What a difference 9 years can make…. In 2013, I was diagnosed with Lymphoma and getting that news at the age of 30 was scary. I went into the Nose/Throat doctor thinking it couldn’t be anything major (bc how could it be) but I also knew what I was feeling/experiencing was not normal or didn’t feel right. 3 days later I got the call - it was Cancer. After that, things were sort of a blur. I was eligible for an early trail of treatments that was showing strong results for the type of Cancer I had before I knew it i was being scheduled for weekly Chemo treatments. Fast forward 9 years and I am still in full remission - I got through this thanks to (1) the love/support of my family, friends (2) the AMAZING Doctors & Nurses at Sloan Kettering & (3) Funding of Cancer research that helps to evolve different treatments - my outcome was a positive story but who knows had it not been for the years and years of Research and Funding into Cancer diagnosis. On Nov. 20th, 2022 I will be in a Ride. Restore. Refresh. benefitting the Children's Cancer Center and Young Texans - but need to raise over $250 in order to qualify to participate.
